What is JEE Main?

The Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) 2026, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), is the primary undergraduate engineering entrance exam in India. It serves as the gateway for admission to NITs, IIITs, Government-Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs), and State Engineering Colleges. Top scorers (top ~2.5 lakh) qualify for JEE Advanced, which determines IIT admissions.

Eligibility Criteria

10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognised board. Minimum 75% aggregate (65% for SC/ST). Age: DOB on or after October 1, 2004 (for 2026 session). Maximum 3 attempts.

Preparation Tips

  1. Clear all Class 11 and 12 NCERT concepts before jumping to JEE-level problems.
  2. Solve JEE Previous Year Papers (last 15 years) chapter-wise.
  3. Focus on high-weightage chapters: Coordinate Geometry, Calculus, Electrostatics, Organic Chemistry.
  4. Attempt 3 mock tests per week in the last 3 months; review every question.
  5. Manage time wisely — skip and return to difficult questions during the exam.
